Studio J and the A Very Merry Christmas Stamp of the Month Set

Good Morning Everyone,

It's almost November..... I can hardly believe it. So weird! But with October coming to a close, there are a couple of things to remember besides trick or treating with your little ghouls....

OCTOBER STAMP OF THE MONTH

The fabulous October Stamp of the Month, a Very Merry Christmas, will be gone in just 2 short days. I LOVE This set. It is so easy to work with and the fact that every image coordinated with the new Cricut Artiste cartridge makes it a must have in my book. If you look at the stamp set you will see an  outline around most of the images. That is indicating that this set can be cut using one of our Cricut cartridges. It even tells you which cartridge and what size to cut the image at to get a perfect fit for your stamps. Easy peasy!

If you haven't ordered your set already, be sure to today. You can see more artwork created with the Very Merry Christmas set too by visiting my website and scrolling all the way down the page I've linked for you.

I personally have done 46 double page layouts in studio J in the last 4 weeks... feels good! Here are just a few samples.

Alcohol Marker & Pigment Pad Video Tutorial

Good Morning,

I know you've heard me talk a lot about our new Alcohol Markers and Mini Pigment Ink Pad Towers and thought you might enjoy seeing a video of them in use. There are a lot of good tips on how to use and store these inks and markers. Take a few minutes to watch this and you won't be disappointed. Coloring with markers adds a whole new dimension to your stamped projects. With a smile, Tina

Have you seen our Pre-Assembled Chipboard Block?

Good Morning,

Check out this cute project created by Close To My Heart. They have taken the Moonlight Workshop on the Go papers and Stamps and covered the pre-assembled  My Creations Block to make a decorative art element for the home.  These blocks are made from chipboard and are 3x3x3 in size... a good sized canvas to work on!

The neat thing about these blocks is that they can be flipped and turned creating a huge variety of art to display. It's great that they are super inexpensive as well- only $3.95 US. I plan on getting a couple to have an afternoon of creating with my kids on one of the upcoming rainy days we will be facing here in Oregon. I will be sure to post what we come up with!

Happy Halloween cutie!

Good Morning Everyone,

Today's card is a fun little Halloween card made by my friend Nancy Reding. I wish she had a blog I could link to because she makes some really cute stuff and I am always so thankful that she shares her creations with me. Today's card is not exception. She made this quick little ditty using the zip strip off of one of the patterns of paper in the Moonlight paper pack, the Perfect Fit Halloween Stamp, Burlap ribbon and the 2" scallop punch.

You could take this exact template and make a huge variety of cards all with different looks based on the stamps and papers you chose and they would all be quick and easy. Watch for an upcoming post where I do just that! Thank you again for sharing your artwork with me Nancy!  Enjoy everyone, Tina

More fun with the Artiste Cartridge

Good Morning,

Look at these two little projects created from the Artiste Cartridge. The first is a bat treat holder. My friend Leigh Ann Scherer made this. She cut him out of black cardstock and then folded his wings in and added a stamped image from the Magic Potions stamp set. A thing to note is that the shapes of these stamps match images that the cricut cartridge cuts, so again, easy peasy!

The second item I have to share is this little treat holder. It can be found on page 54 of the Cricut Artiste handbook.  I cut my sample at only 2 1/2" using the Moonlight paper. You can make these in a wide variety of sizes, on any cardstock or patterned paper you like and have cute little cups to fill with treats.

These would be really cute at parties, baby showers or bridal showers. If you do create one, send me a note with a link to your creation. I would LOVE to see your artwork!  With a smile~ Tina

Creating a cute Mummy is easy with our new Chalk Marker

Good Morning,

Today I wanted to share a card made by my friend and business partner Lori Cremer. She created this cute card using the stamp set that comes in the Moonlight Workshop on the Go Kit. The thing I really love about this card is how she created her mummy.

To create her mummy, she simply used Black ink and stamped him on Slate Cardstock. Then, to bring out his "mummy side" (hee hee), she took or NEW Chalk Marker and added streaks all over to give the look of being wrapped. The little guy was then popped up with our 3-D foam tape. The final touches included embellishments from the Haunted Assortment pack. Easy Peasy card! If you have any questions, send me a note! Enjoy~ Tina

A Sneak Peak at my upcoming workshop~

Hey Everyone,

I've been playing around a LOT with the Cricut Artiste Cartridge and I have a workshop kit that I will be sharing in the next week or so, centered around Holiday Gift Giving. I am also linking this gift box to the H2H challenge for the week.

This Workshop Kit is centered around a variety of the Gift Boxes and Gift Card Holders that can be created with the Artiste Cartridge. Here is a sample of one of them, created with our new Champagne Cardstock and Pear & Partridge papers. I've also used the October Stamp of the Month "A Very Merry Christmas" for the tag.

Each kit will contain all the materials needed to create 4 Gift Card Holders and 3 Boxes to create a very cute and loving gift container for the holidays. Watch for more details to order your kit. As always, Feel free to contact me with any questions. With a smile~ Tina

Happy Halloween Layout

Good Morning,

Today's artwork features the third layout my scrapbooking group created this month. This layout incorporates our new Slate cardstock. I did this because a few of the dimensional elements I used had this color in them so I thought it would help to make those elements pop.

Also, I have been asked my a few people what my favorite way is to adhere chipboard to my artwork. The answer is with a very small amount of liquid glass. That product is so strong and you don't need very much at all. Less is always more when working with it. I simply apply a few small dots of it on the back and it works like a charm. Enjoy!  With a smile ~ Tina

Matchbook Treat Holders- An oldy but a goody!

Good Morning,

Today is a quick post. I wanted to share yet another treat holder created with the Cricut Artiste Cartridge and the Moonlight papers. It is basically a big matchbook that holds a treat (package of M&M's) inside.
On the first picture you can see the detail I added to the Background and Texture Paper with the Silver Metallic Marker. I also used the 2" Scallop punch for the background of the focal point image. This is a fun treat to give to your coworkers, or children's teachers, or even as a surprise in your kids lunchboxes.
Feel free to contact me with any questions.
With a smile~ Tina

Be ready for scrappin' those cute Halloween Photos

Good Morning,

Today I wanted to share the second layout my scrapbooking group will be creating this month using the Moonlight collection. I also created this layout using the Make It From Your Heart how-to program. Scrapbooking is so much faster, simpler and easier when I use it. Now this particular layout can showcase a large focal point photo on the first page or you could do two 4x6 photos quite nicely.
To add some depth to the pages, I sponged Smokey Plum ink on the Smokey Plum cardstock, the Colonial White Cardstock and the Orange background and texture paper.

I sponged Autumn Terracotta ink on the Goldrush paper to make it pop a bit too.

As always, feel free to contact me if you have any questions or comments!

Whooo wouldn't love this Owl Gift Bag? from the Cricut Artiste cartridge?

Good Morning,

I've been on a roll playing with the new Cricut Artiste cartridge. There are SO MANY CUTE PROJECTS in this cartridge ... 700 to be exact. I have a lot to share with you, but today I will stick with my Halloween theme.

I created this little owl gift bag using the Cricut Artiste Cartridge , the Moonlight Paper pack and the Black Tulle Ribbon. I also held it close with our new Hook and Loop velcro dots.

The bag and eyes were cut at  4 1/2" from page 77 of the Artiste Handbook.

The black tag frame was cut at 2" and the words "BOO" at 1" in Goldrush Cardstock from the Halloween key. I did end up adding a strip of Goldrush Cardstock behind the tag to give the tag a bit more ooommph! I ink distressed the edges of the bag in smokey plum and also the Goldrush cardstock in Autumn Terracotta ink.  Lastly, the black tag is popped up with our 3-D foam tape. It's the little details that really  make the difference.

Assembly was quick and easy. I used my bone folder to get a nice crisp fold, and then Liquid Glass to make sure the bag would stay together with treats inside. You could make so many variations of this little gift bag, this one just happens to look like an owl for Autumn. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions. With a smile, Tina

I added some Silver Glitter Glitz to the edge of the Black Tag to give it some bling.
I also added a small beak in Goldrush Cardstock, AFTER I took the picture, lol!

Trick or Treat.... definitely a treat!

Good Morning,
Today I wanted to share a little Halloween Box I created using the Cricut Artiste Cartridge and a few of the same supplies I have been using on the other projects shared:

  • Moonlight Papers
  • Perfect-Fit Halloween Stamps
  • Black Tulle Ribbon
  • Silver Metallic Marker
With the new Artiste Cartridge, this project is super simple to create.
I cut out the body of the box and the top and bottom  at 5" from page 40 of the Cricut Handbook. I did not have to guess at the size to cut the top and bottom, once I cut the body. This particular cartridge is designed to be cut at the size to fit for all pieces. So once I set it at 5" for the body, I just left it, and cut the rest as well!

In the Picture you can see that I also cut out the bow and a spider web and spider, but ended up not using either of those items.

For assembly, I simply followed the diagram on page 11 of the Assemble book... yep, this Cricut Cartridge comes with 2 books: a handbook and an assembly guide since most of these projects are 3-D Items.

Check out how it came together. I would love to hear what kinds of things you are making with this cartridge!
With a smile~ Tina

Moonlight Papers all cut at 5" from Page 40 of the Artiste Handbook

The Cricut Artiste Cartridge comes with 3 coordinating stamp sets and 3 sheets of Chipboard shapes
