And they are so fun to play with as long as you have some ideas to get you started. Today's video is going to do just that. We will show you how to create fun party favors with the My Creations Ring Box and the Cricut Artbooking Cartridge. To get started, they took a 12"x12" page overlay and cut it at a size to fit the top of the box. Then with just a few quick stamped images and some bakers twine there is an adorable box for party guests. Let me show you how easy it is:

If you do not have the Artbooking Cartridge yet and are looking to get it, ordering is simple. Simply visit my website and it will be shipped to you via Fed Ex in  now time at all. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

Mini Albums using the Artbooking Cartridge

Good Morning,

Today's video shows you some ideas on how to create your own Mini-Book using the Artbooking cartridge. The video features the Elegance keys found on pages 46 & 47. To create the book you would make sure your real dial size button is NOT pushed and instead set your size dial to 11". The reason you will do this is that this is the size shown in the artbooking book. The nice part of this is that each key on this theme will then cut proportionally to fit the 11" book... no guessing!  Each page is built beginning with stamping right on the base page, followed by images cut on your cricut and completed with your embellishments.

The video also shows you how to create a similar album but at the 8" size this time. If you set your dial to that size, all the different page elements will cut proportionally. It takes all the guesswork out of creating with your cricut, and saves you time and money as well since you aren't cutting multiple pieces trying to get the exact right size that you need. In this second album you will see cricut pieces used that are NOT found on these keys and for those elements you will want to push the real dial size button and cut them to fit the space you are working in. I hope that makes sense. If not, feel free to leave a comment and I will help you out.

Create a Calendar using the CTMH Flip Stand

Good Morning~

Wait until you watch this video! Just in time for the new year, we will show you how you can create your own personalized calendar using the Cricut Artbooking cartridge and the Flip Stand Album. The trick is to use the Real Dial size on your cricut to cut the calendar page overlay down to size. The Artbooking cartridge is also full of all kinds of icons that you can use to highlight special days. You can even add photos of your family on their special days. Love it! It is a FUN project, watch and see. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to post a comment or contact me. With a smile~ Tina

Creating Dynamic Focal Points on your Layout with Shapes ~ Cricut Size Settings Tutorial

Good Morning,

Today's video tutorial is one that really caught my eye because I think it teaches something many people don't know how to do with their Cricut Machine ~ Change the size settings to cut in millimeters rather than just inches or centimeters.

In doing so, Close To My Heart also shows you how to create dynamic focal point designs on your scrapbook pages and cards by simply using small shapes... watch and see what I mean. Oh... and having a pen handy to take some quick Cricut machine notes might be helpful too... it was for me!

Good Morning,

Time for another Artbooking Made Easy video tutorial. Today we will create layouts using the 2 wintertime themed keys found on page 76 & 77 of the Artbooking Booklet. There are 28 images to choose from using just these 2 keys. That is a TON!

About halfway through there is a fun technique shown on how to get a cool background using the "Direct to paper" technique with our mini pigment ink pads. A definite must try.

One last Gift Box from the Cricut Artiste Cartridge~

Good Morning,

Yep~ another fun piece of artwork created with the Cricut Artiste cartridge and items from the Holiday Gift Guide (which is only available until December 31, 2013). By now you've seen this paper a lot... so all I have to see is that the box is created with Slate Cardstock accented with our Ruby Chevron Ribbon. The box was cut using the "Fit To Page" button as well.

Christmas Card with a Removable Ornament created with the Cricut Artiste Cartridge

Good Morning,

Guess what I have to share today???
Yes~ more artwork featuring stamps and embellishments from the Holiday Gift Guide.
Today's artwork was created by one of my team members~ Linda Pantalone. I love it when I am lucky enough to receive some of her beautiful handmade work and these two beauties show you why.

This first card is special because the focal point image on the front is actually a removable ornament. Linda created this using the Cricut Artiste cartridge, and then adhered velcro to the back of it and onto the card. So clever! The sentiment is from the Santa Claus stamp set.
And on this card, she used the now retired Milestone Shapes along with the Sparkle and Shine Washi tape for a simple country Christmas card. The sentiment is from the brand new Yuletide Greetings stamp set. This card comes together SO quickly because of the washi tape. It's as simple as tearing and sticking. Wah-lah! Enjoy!!  With a smile~ Tina

Sparkle & Shine with Season's Tweetings and the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge... oh my!

Good Morning,

More holiday cards... just in case you are still working on yours. This time I am sharing cards created by my sweet friend Nancy Reding. She is another talented CTMH Consultant whom I enjoy immensely. She often shares her talent with me and so I turn around and share it with all of you.

This first item is a card created using the Season's Tweetings Gift Bag Kit. She colored the images in with the Juniper alcohol marker set, and then accented it with the Silver and the Juniper washi tape from the Sparkle & Shine Washi Tape 3 pack. Cute eh!

And then there is this cutie. She cut the pillow box out of Ruby Cardstock on her Cricut using the Art Philosophy cartridge. A bit of paper here, some bling and washi tape there, a cute stamped image and wah-lah... a super cute, super fun treat holder for the holidays. I just love it! If you don't already have the Art Philosophy cartridge, I highly recommend it. With over 700 images, 3 coordinating stamp sets and 3 sheets of chipboard shapes, it is a GREAT DEAL! Contact me today if you have any questions. It would make a wonderful Christmas gift.

Trim the Tree with Holiday Sparkle Shapes & Sparkle and Shine Washi Tape

Good Morning,

In the "Sparkle and Shine" theme I have been stuck on, I thought you might enjoy seeing some cards that have been created with these papers. This card was created by my friend and fellow CTMH Consultant Joanie McCall. She used the Trim The Tree stamps along with the Sparkle Holiday Shapes. The stamp sets are one of my favorite item out of the Holiday Gift Guide because #1, they are super affordable ($6.95) and #2, they coordinate with the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge for quick, easy cutting. Love that! She also did a bit of accenting with the Sparkle and Shine Washi tape. What a talented artist she is.

Sparkle and Shine Scrapbook Groups Layout #3

Good Morning,

Here is the 3rd and final double page layout we will be creating in December. Once completed, each of my class members will have 6 layouts prepped and ready to go for scrapbooking their Christmas photos. I added some fun elements with the Sparkle & Shine Washi tapes and then used sentiments from the Zip strips to accent.  Now that is faster, simpler and easier in my book! Enjoy. With a smile, Tina

Sparkle and Shine Scrapbook Group Layout #2

Good Morning~

A quickie post to share the second layout in the 6 page Sparkle and Shine scrapbook kit I created for December classes. Again, the base pages are Ruby and the photos are matted with Slate. Grey is so on trend right now and for good reason... its beautiful! The chipboard complements were spiced up with the Stardust Glitz Glitter Gel which is soon to be retired. :( I love these gels! Don't you think they really spice up the layout without adding bulk. And the nice thing is that the glitter will not flake off! Enjoy! With a smile~ Tina

Artwork featuring the Banner Wishes stamp set & Washi Tape from the Holiday Gift Guide

Good Morning,

Today I wanted to share a little artwork from the CTMH Holiday Gift Guide. Both of these boxes were created using the Cricut Artiste Cartridge and the "Banner Wishes" stamp set. Also, they are both embellished with Washi tape from our 2 new Washi Tape bundles. Each of these bundles comes with 3 rolls of Washi tape, 15 yards of tape PER roll. FUN!

This first box was cut out of Cotton Candy cardstock and then embellished with Chocolate cardstock and the Cotton Candy washi tape from the Party Washi Tape bundle. I adhered the washi tape to a piece of White Daisy cardstock to make it pop. I used the Glitter Glitz gel to add polka dots and to highlight the Banner Wishes sentiment. Easy peasy.

This pillow box, created by my sweet friend Nancy Reding,  was cut from Ruby cardstock using the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge. It was decorated using the Sparkle & Shine papers along with the Banner Wishes stamp set. The pennants were created with the Sparkle & Shine Washi tape and our silver Glitter Paper. Again, super easy, and fun to create. Who wouldn't love receiving this box? If you do not have the Cricut cartridges or any of the supplies to create these, you can visit my site or contact me directly and I will help you out. These products are only available until December 31st, on a while supplies last basis so I don't want you to miss out.  With a smile~ Tina

Twisting with Twist Ties~ a new fun embellishment.

Good Morning,

Today I have a new product to introduce you too - TWIST TIES - as well as a video showing you some fun and trendy uses for these embellishments. Now when I say "twist ties", I am talking about the thingy-ma-bobbers that hold a  loaf of bread together. But... CTMH has created some that are too cute for bread and perfect for paper crafting. In today's video you will see the obvious ways to use this product, but then, as you keep watching you will see some very innovative ways to put this accessory to use for you. For example... you can use them to create your own wired ribbon, or wired washi tape or... oh, lets just let you see the video. Cool stuff here!~

Gift Bags with the Cricut Artiste Cartridge

Good Morning,

So a couple of days ago I shared a few of the gift boxes I had created with the Artiste Cartridge and now I want to share a couple of little gift bags or gift purses I also made. Again, I used the "Fit To Page" button on my Cricut to cut these the biggest size possible, and then began decorating them. However, these purses were SUPER quick... because I cheated. hahaha! I am a big fan of recycling, re-purposing and re-using items. So... I dug out my stash of cards from last year and did a little dissecting of them. I then simply added the focal point image from the card to my purse and embellished with a bow... wah-lah... instant little gift bag. I was so stinkin' happy with myself... but I am kind of goofy that way.

Anyway, I hope these little gift bags inspire you to get your cricut out and play. If you don't have the Artiste cartridge, I can definitely help you with that. :) Just hop over to my page and check it out. Lots of extra goodies this month to with the Stamp of the Month and the Holidays From the Heart promotion.

Gift Boxes for holiday gift giving using the Cricut Artiste Cartridge

Good Morning,

I have been a busy bee cutting, cutting and cutting some more with my Cricut and the Artiste Cartridge. The gift boxes have been calling my name and I have been on a roll using up some of my paper stash to make these little guys for the upcoming holiday season. All 3 were cut using the "Fit To Page" button with the Artiste Cartridge and come out at about 4.5" tall. I used a velco dot to help keep them securely closed.
I have some more to share, but I think I will save those for tomorrow.

If you don't yet have this awesome cartridge, you might want to check it out. It too comes with 700 images, 3 coordinating stamp sets and 3 sheets of chipboard shapes. This Cricut cartridge is FULL of all kinds of 3-D items, which is perfect for this time of year. And to make the deal even sweeter, with the purchase of this cartridge, you will qualify for the October Stamp of the Month for only $5.... which then qualifies you for a FREE starred item from the Holiday's From the Heart gift guide. Woo-Hoo! Lots of good deals to be had.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.  With a smile~ Tina

Autumn Themed Scrapook Layouts using the Cricut Artbooking Cartridge

Good Morning,

It is time for another Artbooking Made Easy video Tutorial from Close To My Heart. This particular tutorial features 2 scrapbook layouts with Autumn or Thanksgiving themes, using only two keys from the Artbooking cartridge. You will see how easy it is to create quick and beautiful pages for your photos with a couple button pushes.

I know its also fun to create smaller sized albums, like 8x8 or 6x6. CTMH also shows us how simple it is to create those smaller layouts with this Cricut cartridge. It's all about whether you use "Real Dial Size" or not... which is a very important distinction with the Artbooking cartridge. Watch this short video to see how very different images are cut when using that button.

If you do not yet have this cartridge, you can see it more closely on my website. It comes as a large bundle that includes 3 stamp sets and 3 sheets of chipboard shapes that all coordinate with the 700 images that this one cartridge cuts. You have to see it up close!

Lastly, here is a card I made using the same keys and the same overlay. I simple used the Real Dial Size button and change the size to 5.5" and created an overlay that fit my 6" x 6" card perfectly.
Enjoy the video and as always, don't hesitate to contact me with any questions. With a smile~ Tina

Holidays from the Heart & the Season's Tweetings Stamp set

Good Morning,

Today's card features items found only in the Holiday Mini Catalog. I used the "Season's Tweetings" stamp set along with the Sparkle & Shine papers and Washi Tape. The images were colored with the Juniper and Ruby alcohol markers. Then to finish it off, I added some sparkles, a bow and glitter. My favorite part of the whole card is the washi tape. I am definitely getting addicted to this stuff. Thankfully CTMH now carries 8 exclusive designs.

Enjoy the rest of your day! With a smile~ Tina

Hand Stitching on Your Cards... you just have to do it!

Good Morning,

It's technique Tuesday so today I have a short little video to share with you that features two great techniques:

  1. Hand Stitching on your projects  and....
  2. How to create sunburts
I have been asked a lot lately about these two trends so I am excited for you guys to see how easy they are to do. And the best part of the the sunburst is that you can create these from all the scraps of paper I know you all hoard, ahem... I mean, store. hee hee! I am planning a card workshop right after the holidays to feature both of these techniques!!

Enjoy the video and as always, feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Christmas is coming.... and so are my cards!

Good Morning,

Eeeeks, its almost halfway through October which means I need to get started on my Christmas card ideas soon. Each year I have a large, fun and rowdy workshop called a "Stamp-A-Stack Christmas Card Workshop" where 20 or so ladies come and stamp anywhere from 10-50 cards each. It is so much fun and I look forward to it each year. Ahhh, the music, the candy, the laughter.... such a fun time with the girls.

To ensure that each person can complete their cards I do my best to keep them a bit more simple than usual. My goal is for them to leave with Christmas cards ready to send out by Thanksgiving, if they so choose. :)

So here is the first card. I used the new Frosted B&TP's as well as Twilight and Champagne cardstock. The snowflakes are cut from the Cricut Artiste and Art Philosophy cartridges and then glittered with our Stardust Glitz Glitter Gel.  Enjoy! With a smile~ Tina

Halloween is a Spooktacular even to scrapbook!

Hey everyone,

Halloween is just around the corner and that means so are all of those adorable trick or treaters and their Halloween costumes. So in preparation for all the photos I know I will be taking, I have started to create some Halloween Layouts. The fun part here (besides the cute layouts) is that this paper is on a SUPER SALE on my website for only $2.20 per pack of 18 sheets of Background & Texture Paper and Cardstock. It's sooooo affordable. You will want to hop on over there and snag yourself some, along with any other of the super discounted items you will see.

Anyway, back to the layout. Like I said, this was created using the Spooktacular paper pack, the Black and Silver Glitter Paper and the Cricut Artbooking Cartridge.

Background Stamps and Scrapbooking... the added Ooomph you may be looking for!

Good Morning,

As you all know, I love stamping. In fact, I started out as a stamper first and then incorporated scrapbooking into my love of crafting. So naturally, I have combined the two to create fabulous pages. In this video, Close To My Heart shows you how you can use background stamps to add creative support to your beautiful layouts.

You will also learn techniques for keeping the look balanced. You will also see how easy it is to creat the look of washi tape using these kinds of stamps. As always, if you have any questions, feel free to contact me or visit my website to see these items up close.  With a smile, Tina
