October Stamp of the Month Blog Hop: Home For The Holidays

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!  We will be featuring October's SOTM, which is "Home For the Holidays."  If you have come here from Carol-Anne Grenier's Blog, you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around.

This month we have approximately 70 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using this month's SOTM and other great CTMH products on their blogs.

I had a lot of fun using this set with the Snowhaven papers and the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge. Almost every image in this stamp set can be cut with your Cricut... woo-Hoo! I chose to use the little polar bear image and fussy cutting out the postage stamp background would have been... um... slow!
I'm not sure you can tell from the photo, but I also cut out the polar bear and used foam tape to pop him up off the snowflake background. He's such a cute guy!

Here is a picture of all of the designs that come in a Snowhaven paper pack. As you can see, I only used two of them. Make sure to come back tomorrow to see artwork created with some of the other patterns.

Now "Hop" on over to Kristine Ponte's Blog to see her work! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their Blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas! Remember, the SOTM is only available until September 30th so contact your CTMH Consultant (or click here) to see how you can get this stamp set at a discount!

Cute Stackable Cube Organizers

Good Morning,

So I told you about the Tilt Bin Interlocking Storage System and how much of a difference they made in my space, so today let me show you the Stackable Cube Organizers. One is just an open cube but there is a slot to slide a shelf in. One has 4 drawers and the other has an X configuration. All 3 of them can be linked together with clips that came with them, but I have not linked mine yet.

Here is how I used the bottom two containers. The X box is perfect for our new Shin Han markers. I have them seperated by colors and can easily and quickly grab the one I need. Plus, there is plenty of room to add more! I love that is stores them on their sides too, a very important thing for markers.

You can see here that I am storing my Waxi Flax and Washi Tape rolls in the drawers. Obviously if you have a gazillion rolls of this awesome stuff, like I know some of you do (smile, smile, smile), then this would not work. But for me, it works out great. Plus I think it is pretty! Overall, I am very  happy with my new organization toys from Deflecto Crafts. They do a great job!

Enjoy the rest of your day everyone!
With a smile,
Tina

Deflecto Tilt Bin Interlocking Storage System... Things Are Looking So Much Better!

Good Morning,

Today I wanted to share my latest endeavors in organizing my craft space. I recently got some Tilt Bin Interlocking units from Deflecto and wait till you see what it did to my  mish mash piles of "stuff" on my desk. I literally had about 4 baskets and bins that just caught everything I didn't know where to put away... stuff like extra cricut cuts, embellishments, washi tape, ribbon etc. Let me show you:

So here is what they look like empty:

And here is what they did to my space:

Much much better don't you think!! I can actually find things, AND I have gained more usuable workspace on my desk. I am so happy with how this turned out. Here is a close up of my filled bins. I definitely plan on getting some of these storage bins.

I have a few more organizers from Deflecto that I want to share with you so be sure to watch for those posts.

With a smile,
Tina

Introducing the Green Glitter Paper from Close To My Heart

Good Morning,

As promised, here is an example of how pretty the Green Glitter papers are, especially for Holiday crafting. Again, I used the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge to cut out both the tree (out of glitter paper) and the overlay, out of Sweet Leaf Cardstock.  Enjoy!

With a smile,
Tina

Introducing the Pink Glitter Papers from Close To My Heart

Good Morning,

Ready for some more inspiration with glitter paper? I hope so! It is super fun to play with and if you haven't gotten your hands on any yet, you need to. You won't be sorry.

So for today, I have some samples showcasing all 3 hues of the pink glitter papers.
As you can see, many shapes were cut on my cricut using the Art Philosophy and Artiste Cricut cartridges. Have you played with either of these yet... 700 images and 3 coordinating stamp sets per cartridge...

Remember, the trick for a clean finish when cutting Glitter Paper on the Cricut is to use the Multi-Cut function, with High pressure and Medium speed. Also, be sure to remove the blade from the housing, push the blade out and blow on it. Glitter flecks will get trapped in there after a bit and can cause an unclean cut.

I hope you were inspired! Check back tomorrow for some ideas using the Green Glitter papers.

With a smile,
Tina

Introducing the Teal Glitter Papers from Close To My Heart

Good Morning,

As promised, here are some cards that feature different shades of the brand new Teal Glitter Paper pack.
As you can see, it matches the "Chalk It Up" papers very nicely. It is a great match for our Lagoon Cardstock, weather you use the dark or the lighter shade in the pack.

I would love to hear your comments, questions or feedback. And tomorrow... the Pink Glitter papers.

Until then, have fun creating!
With a smile,
Tina

Brown and Tan Glitter Paper in action!

Good Morning,

Here are some more "Glitter Paper" inspiration! Today's cards feature paper from the Brown & Tan pack. I chose to share these today because I think they are a great addition to this season's holiday stamping.  The golds go wonderfully with any fall, winter or Christmas themed creations.

For example, the heart really stands out on this card, and ties the whole design together, don't you think?

For this Christmas card, the gold at the bottom is just what this card needed to elevate it to wow!
And on this last card, look how pretty it looks behind those flowers. The glitter paper can easily be cut on your Cricut. My recommendation is that you use the "Multi-Cut" function, with High Pressure and Medium speed to get a clean cut every time.

Next up... the Teal Glitter paper... my absolute favorite.

With a smile,
Tina

Glitter Paper... my most Favoritest Embellishment right now!!

Good Morning,

Today I wanted to talk about Glitter paper... because I - LOVE - IT! I mean, like seriously LOVE it, obsessed with it and the way it adds a Wow factor to any project just because its so sparkly.

Much to my delight, Close To My Heart now carries a TON of colors of Glitter paper. Okay, maybe not a ton, but we do have 6 color families and 3 hues per color so that is 18 different shades to play with.
Let me show them to you:
Pink Variety Pack

Purple Variety Pack

Teal Variety Pack

Green Variety Pack

Brown & Tan Variety Pack

Black & Grey Variety Pack

Now let me show you the Purple and Silver glitter paper in action. Don't you think it adds so much Pizazz to a card without much work... I admit, I am a bit of a "quick" crafter... so adding glitter is right up my alley.

Check back over the next couple of weeks for more ideas.

With a smile,
Tina

Washi Tape Fun with the September Stamp of the Month

Today I have a card created by a good friend of mine... Nancy Reding. She used the September Stamp of the Month in such a fun way that I just had to share. So as a reminder, this is what the stamp set, Family is Forever, looks like:
It seems to render many cards that have a strong "autumn" theme to them. Perhaps its that the tree is the focal point image, or perhaps its because of the time of year.... but... Nancy took it in a completely different direction:

Look how vibrant this card is! And she used nothing but White Cardstock and Washi Tape... it makes me want to go get my Washi Tape out and start playing.

And did you notice the new pattern of washi on there? Its the heart tape. This Lagoon Heart washi taped was introduced in our newest idea book and joins all of the other colors we carry. If you haven't seen our selection, you should check them out... and, an important thing to note is that each roll is 15 YARDS! That's a lot of Washi!

Feel free to leave a comment or contact me with any questions.

With a Smile,
Tina

More Stamp of the Month Cards for September using the "Family is Forever" set~

Good Morning,

I wanted to share another card created with the September Stamp of the Month. My friend Joannie McCall created this card and sent it to me. I think its wonderful.

She used the new Pathfinding papers and then sponged multiple colors onto the tree leaves and branches. The heart cut from CTMH's glitter paper adds just the right touch of bling. Thank you for sharing it with me Joanie!

Remember, this set is only available in September. Contact me today if you have any questions!

Tina

"30 Years of Happy" Blog Hop

Welcome to our National Stamping Month Blog Hop!  We will be featuring the "30 Years of Happy" special stamp set.... which is FREE this month only with any $30 in stamp purchases! Love it!

If you have come here from Katy's Blog, you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around.  There is a lot of fun artwork to be shared so have fun!

To begin. let me show you all  30 of the cute images that are included in this stamp set:  the possibilities are endless!

Now on to what I created.... I decided to make a whole bunch of gift enclosure cards ... simply because I love this size. They are so cute. For this card, I used the Snowhaven papers, which are a winter themed set, and turned it into a Valentines Day or Anniversary card. My inspiration was the card I created with this month's Stamp of the Month set. If you missed it, you can see it here

Then I of course had to pull out the Confetti Wishes papers.... which are my favorite papers in this Idea Book right now. I think its the bright, vibrant and cheerful colors that appeal to me so much. Both Thistle and Canary, which are two of our newest colors are featured in this paper pack.

Now "Hop" on over to Pam's Blog to see her work! Remember, the "30 Years of Happy" set is only available until September 30th!  Contact your CTMH Consultant (or click here) to see how you can get this stamp set at a discount!

More Cards from the Chalk It Up Picture My Life Kit

SO MUCH FUN! Thats how I feel about these kits. So fun and so many possibilites! Here is another card I created from one of the 3" x 4" PML Cards.

All it took was a little sanding, a little coloring with the markers and some bling. Easy Peasy... so easy I decided I had to do up the inside too with some stamping, coloring and fussy cutting... check it out:

The stamp set I used is called "Great Job." I stamped it in archival black ink and then colored it with the Light Orange and Turquoise Shin Han markers. I left off any sentiment because I am not sure who I will send this card to yet.... Enjoy and as always, feel free to contact me with any questions.

With a smile,
Tina
